Ukraine will once again become one of the key topics on the international stage when US President Joe Biden meets with Volodymyr Zelenskyi during the NATO summit. It is expected that the meeting will take place on the sidelines of the summit and will be dedicated to confirming the support of Ukraine from the US and other world leaders.
The White House announced that they are working on organizing several meetings between US President Joe Biden and various world leaders on the sidelines of the NATO summit, in particular with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. This was discussed at the press conference devoted to the NATO summit.
"... the president will have a rather busy schedule in view of his commitments as the host of the summit, we are working on organizing several meetings with various world leaders on the sidelines of the summit, including with President Zelensky... And in the coming days we will have more information about them, which let's share," said a senior representative of the Biden Administration.
He also noted that "next week you will also see a powerful demonstration of support for Ukraine by the US and its allies. Allies will confirm that Ukraine's future is in NATO; will make important new announcements about how we are increasing NATO's military, political and financial support for Ukraine. This is part of the Ukrainian "bridge to NATO".
"And on the sidelines of the summit, President Biden will hold an event with President Zelenskyi and almost two dozen other allies - sorry, as well as almost two dozen of our allies and partners who have signed bilateral security agreements with Ukraine," added a representative of the Biden Administration.
The United States will also announce new steps to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses and military capabilities to help Ukraine continue to defend itself today and deter Russian aggression in the future, he said.
"Together, the Washington summit will send Putin a strong signal: if he thinks he can survive a coalition of countries that support Ukraine, he is deeply mistaken," the representative of the Biden Administration summarized.
