The hryvnia continues to fall

At the beginning of this week, the hryvnia in Ukraine lost its stability against the dollar, confirming the long-term trend of its depreciation. According to monitoring data presented by RBC-Ukraine on Monday, November 13, the average dollar rate on the cash market increased by 5 kopecks and is 37.75 hryvnias, while the euro rate remained stable at 40.35 hryvnias.

Dollars are bought at exchange offices for an average of 37.25 hryvnias, and euros for 39.65 hryvnias.

On the interbank, the rate remains stable at the level of 36.14-36.14 (buy-sell) compared to the previous day's close.

The National Bank of Ukraine today raised the official exchange rate of the dollar to UAH 36.0779 for 1 dollar (+0.0419 UAH), and the euro rate is 38.542 UAH for 1 euro (+0.0195 UAH). This indicates continued pressure on the national currency.

Over the last week, the National Bank sold 389.1 million dollars and bought 1.26 million dollars on the interbank foreign exchange market. With a slight decline in sales volume, this is the third week in a row of lower volumes.

In total, since the beginning of 2023, the regulator sold $23.566 billion and bought $211.88 million. These actions indicate attempts to stabilize the hryvnia against the background of foreign economic difficulties and the strengthening of the dollar on world markets.
