A Kharkiv resident set fire to the cars of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on order

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court against a 25-year-old resident of Kharkiv, who is accused of setting fire to cars belonging to the Ukrainian military. The accused, who already had problems with the law, found a suspicious curator through the Telegram messenger, who offered him a fee to carry out arson.

The investigation found out that in August 2024, a man from Kharkiv, trying to earn money, accepted the offer of a Telegram curator to set fire to military vehicles. He was promised $1,500 for each arson. The customer provided clear instructions on how to act and put forward a mandatory condition - to provide photo or video evidence of the committed crimes.

On August 16, 2024, the accused set fire to a Mitsubishi Carisma , which had visual signs of a military vehicle, filming his actions on a mobile phone. A few days later, he sent a photo of a Volkswagen Transporter T4 , waiting for further instructions, but then he was detained by law enforcement officers.

At the moment, the accused is in custody. If his guilt is proven in court, the man from Kharkiv faces up to eight years in prison.
