Hezbollah attacked an Israeli military base

Following the recent Hezbollah attack on an Israeli military base, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin called his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Galant. In the conversation, Austin expressed his condolences for the deaths of four Israeli soldiers, emphasizing the support of the United States during this difficult time.

At the same time, Austin called for a diplomatic solution to the conflict with Lebanon, whose territory was attacked by Israel the day before.

According to the latest data, four Israeli soldiers were killed and more than 60 people were injured as a result of an attack by a Hezbollah drone on a military base.

Judging by the footage from the scene, the servicemen were in the dining room at the time of the attack. Pictures circulating on social media show an empty dining room with a hole in the roof.

Hezbollah claims that the base was attacked by a swarm of drones.

Speaking to Galant, Austin also called on Israel to ensure the safety of UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon.

Yesterday, the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said that two Israeli tanks destroyed the main gate to their position in southern Lebanon and "forced entry" into the facility.

"We have demanded an explanation from the IDF regarding these shocking violations," UNIFIL said in a statement.
