In Ukraine, every official gas consumer is entitled to free installation of an individual gas meter - at the expense of the gas distribution network operator. However, many people pay for the installation on their own, not knowing that they can avoid it.
According to the current standards, all household subscribers who are connected to the gas networks and have a personal EIS-code-a 16-digit consumer identifier can be calculated on the free installation of the individual meter.
However, it is important: the installation will be free only if the official gas distribution operator (timing) performs it. If the metering device is set by a third -party organization or a private master, then all costs - for buying, installation and documents - is carried by the consumer himself. The law does not provide for reimbursement of such expenses. To exercise the free installation, you need to contact your timing operator-to the contact center or the subscriber department. The applicant should be prepared: a copy of the passport and IDN, a home document, the last receipt with the EIS code. As a result, the timing of installation can be long - especially in the affected regions or where critical infrastructure is priority. However, in many areas of work continue.
Ukrainian legislation obliges to install gas meters to all categories of consumers. This applies to both individual homes and apartments in high -rise buildings. In multi -dwelling housing, common household appliances are usually installed, but the consent of the co -owners is required. In case of refusal or delaying consent by one of the residents, the procedure may be delayed. The timing operators work with communities to speed up the process.
Unfortunately, the law now does not provide for cost compensation if the meter is set by a third -party company. Such actions are considered as the consumer initiative. Nevertheless, there are already proposals to create a mechanism of compensation in parliament and public organizations - especially for vulnerable categories. However, such decisions have not yet been made.
