From December 1, Ukraine has significantly increased the ability to import electricity from European countries, reaching a maximum capacity of 2100 MW at each time. The press service of Ukrenergo reported this, emphasizing that such imports will allow industrial consumers and businesses to work without hourly shutdowns.
- Reducing the import requirement:
- From now on, to ensure the stability of the power system, it is sufficient to import 60% of consumption, while earlier this figure was 80%. This was made possible by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1342.
- Increasing import opportunities:
- The maximum volume of electricity imports from European countries has increased from 1700 MW to 2100 MW, which contributes to the stability of the power system, even in high demand.
- Call for business:
- Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy urge Ukrainian business to more actively import electricity, which will be an additional measure for stabilization of Ukraine's grid.
By increasing electricity imports, business and industry can operate in normal mode, avoiding the risk of stops due to routine shutdowns. It will also reduce the load on the country's internal power system during peak periods.
