Indonesia appealed to Alphabet and Apple to block the Chinese Temu e -commerce firm in its country's applications. This step aims to protect the small and medium -sized Indonesia from the cheap goods offered by PDD Holdings Temu.
Indonesian Minister of Communications, Armi Setiadia, stated that the rapid growth of Temu has caused concern among many countries through its business model, which provides for the sending of goods directly from China to consumers. According to the minister, such a model that connects consumers with factories in China creates "unhealthy competition" for local manufacturers.
In addition, Buddha reported that the Indonesia government also plans to block any TEMU investment in local e-commerce. He stressed that today I have not heard about the company's plans for such investments. The Minister also noted that the government was considering to demand a similar blocking for Chinese SHEIN purchases.
This event reflects the growing alarm of many countries in the impact of Chinese companies on local e -commerce markets, especially in competition with proposals that offer much lower prices.
