The last study indicates that the rejection of social networks does not always improve mental health. Digital detox can simultaneously reduce both negative and positive emotions. Modern technologies and their impact on people are the object of increasing scientific interest.
In the experiment with more than 50 active users of social networks, researchers proposed to refrain from using applications within a week and observed changes in their emotional state. According to the results of daily questionnaires, it turned out that although there was a decline in negative emotions, such as boredom and loneliness, a similar decline occurred with positive feelings.
The study emphasizes the importance of reasonable use of social networks, where refusing them may not always be a universal solution. Recommendations for improving the experience of using social networks include cleaning of the information field, offset of unpleasant contacts and groups, establishing privacy settings and other measures to ensure positive interaction in digital space.
