Ukrainian Internet service providers are actively switching to new energy-saving technologies to provide continuous access to the network even during possible power outages. According to Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mikhail Fedorov, more than 158,000 new subscribers have already connected to a network that can work without light for 72 hours.
"The network with XPON technology, which provides the Internet without light up to 72 hours, has connected 158 thousand new subscribers," Fedorov said in his Telegram channel.
This initiative is designed to prepare for possible power outages in winter, providing users with stable Internet access for a long period, even if there is no electrical power.
Mikhail Fedorov also recommends that every Ukrainian take steps to ensure energy independence of their Internet connection. This may include clarification from the provider with the possibility of giving the Internet without light, finding an alternative provider, if necessary, and providing an unobstructed power for the Wi-Fi router.
These measures not only allow users to remain linked during electricity shutdowns, but also contribute to increased efficiency in winter, when a reliable network connection can be critical.
