On the evening of Saturday, October 28, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyhah appealed to the nation and announced the beginning of the Second War for Independence.
He reported the second stage of Israel's war against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which began with the introduction of land forces into the Gaza Sector, controlled by this group.
Netanyhah noted that the decision to start the ground invasion was made unanimously by military and security officials. The main tasks of the stated operation are the complete elimination of the operational and government capabilities of Hamas, as well as the return of hostages.
Netanyaha emphasized that Israel was making every effort to prevent civilian casualties, and expressed gratitude to the leaders of the United Kingdom, the United States and other Western countries for support.
