The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy announced the arrested journalist Cesilia Sala, who was detained on December 19 by Tehran police. It is known that 29-year-old journalist, a native of Rome, is currently held in one of Iran's most famous prisons-Evini, in the Tehran capital.
Cesilia Sala is a correspondent of the Italian newspaper Il Foglio and leads its own subcost. Italy Foreign Minister Antonio Tayani confirmed that the journalist's condition was satisfactory and stressed that Italy was actively working on its release. He noted that the maximum prudence is important in this case.
The Italian Ambassador Paola Amadeus made a consular visit to the Sai to check the conditions of its maintenance and provide support. The journalist's family was informed about the results of this visit.
The Italian authorities continue to negotiate with the Iranian side to resolve the situation and return the journalist to their homeland.
