In the information of February 18, the Israeli Defense Minister Benny Ganz expressed that Israel would launch a land surgery in Rafah, if hostages held by Hamas would not be released before Ramadan's holiday began in March.
Ganz, who is a member of the military office of Israel, promised that the military, together with partners from the United States and Egypt, would coordinate the evacuation of the civilian population from Gaza aimed at minimizing human losses.
Rafah is estimated that there are about 1 million intraperent Palestinians.
"As for those who think the price is too high - I say it very clearly: Hamas has a choice," Ganz said. "They may seem, release hostages, and then the residents of Gaza will be able to celebrate Ramadan properly."
According to the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyag, the land surgery in Rafah is necessary for the destruction of the rest of Hamas battalions. Those who urge Israel to avoid entering the area are actually calling Israel to defeat in the war.
Ganz stated that he would continue to struggle to achieve the goals of Israel, including the destruction of Hamas threat, returning home to hostages and full elimination of Hamas in the Gaza Sector. Since negotiations on ceasefire and release of hostages in recent days have failed, Netanyaga rejected Hamas's demands, calling them "delusional".
Ganz also told Jewish leaders that he was against the unilateral recognition of the Palestinian state.
