The German magazine Der Spiegel in its recent editorial stated that Israel has declared war on the international legal order, emphasizing the escalation of the conflict in the region and the lack of appropriate action by the international community.
It is reported that Israel has been attacking the UN Unifil peacekeeping mission in Lebanon with tanks for several days, and Netanyahu called on Secretary General Guterres to withdraw the "blue helmets" forces as soon as possible.
UN forces in Lebanon were authorized by the Security Council to monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
"What Netanyahu expressed in his Sunday speech in the language of sympathetic regret is a declaration of war on the world order. Added to this are Israel's actions in recent months with the institutions that are supposed to ensure compliance with the rules of this order. In the din of the wars that Israel is waging, with airstrikes in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, the West Bank and Gaza, it is easy to overlook the fact that in his last speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, Netanyahu also listed international institutions among the “seven fronts" on which Israel now has to fight," the newspaper writes.
Israel is accused of ignoring UN warnings, unwillingness to leave the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, which the ICRC has declared an occupied territory, and readiness to declare the Palestinian humanitarian organization UNRWA (UNRWA) a terrorist organization on a par with Hamas.
Journalists believe that the shelling of the watchtower of the Unifil headquarters was not accidental, but targeted.
The German publication accuses Germany of inaction.
"The world order is a fragile entity. No single state can enforce it, but it is supported by the consent of nations to accept its rules. All countries. An order that does not apply equally to everyone will soon cease to apply to anyone," writes Der Spiegel.
