Israel has decided to strengthen security measures around its diplomatic missions around the world after the murder of two employees of the Israeli Embassy in the United States. On May 22, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyaga announced on his official social network X (former Twitter).
The head of government stated that he was deeply outraged by the "horrific anti -Semitic crime" who took the lives of two diplomatic workers in Washington. According to him, this act of violence is the result of an increase in incitement against Israel in the world.
"We are witnessing the horrific price of anti -Semitism and wild incitement against the state of Israel. Bloody slander against our country has the price of blood, and they need to fight all the forces," Netanyaga stressed.
As part of the response to the tragedy, the Prime Minister was talking to US Prosecutor General Pam Bond. She provided the updated investigation information, the killer's identity, and confirmed that the US authorities would do everything possible to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Against the background of increased risks of security, Netanyaga instructed to immediately strengthen the protection of all Israeli diplomatic missions and protect Israeli representatives abroad.
The investigation of the attack in Washington is ongoing. The international community expresses the condolences of Israel and condemns the act of violence against diplomats. The Israeli Security Service (Shabak) is expected to announce new protection protocols for Israeli dipses in high risk areas in the near future.
