The Chancellor of Austria discussed with Trump the issue of ending the war in Ukraine

The Austrian Federal Chancellor Carl Nevammer spoke about his telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, which discussed the termination of the war in Ukraine. Negammer noted that Trump has shown considerable interest in finding ways to reach peace, emphasizing that any decisions should be in the interests of Ukraine.

The chancellor said that their conversation quickly switched to the topic of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Trump, according to the Nemer, was interested in the assessment of the chancellor as one of the few European leaders who met with Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin.

Negammer proposed Austria as a possible place to negotiate, emphasizing its neutral status. He noted that Austria's neutrality can be used to create a trusting atmosphere during potential negotiations.

The chancellor described the US President chosen as highly motivated to reach peace. Negammer stressed that peace is possible only with the participation of Ukraine.

According to Chancellor, Trump was well aware of the theme of war, which testifies to his interest and his willingness to work to end the conflict. Negammer also noted that the newly elected president could develop a new dynamics in international attempts to stop the war.
