Kellogo called Putin the main obstacle to ceasefire in Ukraine

Ukraine has agreed to a truce with Russia, proposed on the initiative of the US and partners, but the main obstacle to its implementation remains Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated by a special US and Russia representative Kit Kellogg on FOX News .

According to Kellog, Kiev has accepted the proposed truce, which provides for a comprehensive termination of hostilities on land, water and in the air for a period of at least 30 days with the possibility of its continuation. The agreement was reached during the recent negotiations in London with the participation of representatives of the "decisive coalition" - the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

“The Ukrainians agreed that a comprehensive truce was needed on earth, on the water and in the sky for 30 days, which can be continued. They want it today, ”Kellogo stressed.

The American representative acknowledged that not all the conditions of the truce were convenient for Ukraine, but the Ukrainian side agreed to them to stop bloodshed.

"We come to the fact that this is the path to move," Kellogg added, noting that the parties are "close" to consent.

At the same time, the key barrier to the signing and implementation of the agreement remains the reluctance of the Kremlin and personally Vladimir Putin to participate in the negotiations.

“The only person who can bring the result is President Trump. But if Putin agrees. I think right now our obstacle to progress is the "president" of Russia, who disagrees, "Kellog said.

Kellog's statement made it against the backdrop of the diplomatic efforts of the Western countries trying to find the format of termination of hostilities, without inferior to the principled positions on Ukraine's sovereignty. So far, the Kremlin's position remains unchanged, and the full -scale war has been going on for over two years.
