Who can mobilize up to 25 years in Ukraine

Martial law and mobilization are ongoing in Ukraine. According to the law, men from 25 to 60 years can call the army. However, there are cases where mobilization can also affect young people.

In Ukraine, men acquire the status of conscripts from the age of 25, after which they can be called to the army according to the general rules. However, there are situations where younger men can also be mobilized.

  1. They have passed the conscript service - men who served conscript service are mobilized, even if they are not 25 years old.

  2. Contract service - if a person was contracting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they can mobilize it.

  3. Alternative service - men who have undergone an alternative (non -military) service can also be mobilized.

  4. The dismissal from police or other law enforcement agencies - persons who have been dismissed from the police or other law enforcement agencies can be mobilized.

  5. Graduates of the military department - if a man graduated from a military department in higher education institutions, he can be mobilized.

  6. Medical condition - men who were found unusable in peacetime, but suitable for war in war, are mobilized, even if they have not yet turned 25 years old.

According to the decision of the Military Medical Commission, men who have such medical status are also conscripted, even if their age has not reached 25 years.

If a man is 18 to 25 years old is registered in the conscript site, he has the status of a conscript. In this case, it can be sent to conscript service if it has not yet passed it. The conscript can be mobilized when his status changes to a "conscript".

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law that prohibits the mobilization of persons under 25 years of age with health restrictions and declared unfit for peacetime. This category of citizens is given a deferral.
