Charles' former butler revealed what the king actually eats

Grant Harrold, who worked as butler to then-Prince Charles from 2004 to 2011, shared details about the eating habits of Britain's King Charles III. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, he said that despite his healthy diet, the monarch would not give up favorite foods such as beer and burgers if offered.

"Working for the royal family, I realized that there is nothing unusual in their eating habits. The king wouldn't turn down a burger, he wouldn't turn down a beer,” Harrold said.

The former butler revealed that the king eats both traditional and modern food, some of which is grown in the gardens of his royal residences. “He loves vegetables and has a vegetable garden in Highgrove. Vegetables are always on the menu. If he was going to have a snack, he wouldn't be sitting there with a bag of crisps," he added.

Details of the king's dietary preferences emerged after reports that he had started eating avocados for lunch on the advice of doctors. "Now the king eats half an avocado to sustain himself throughout the day. This is important, especially if you are sick,” said the insider.

King Charles III returned to public duties on April 30 for the first time since being diagnosed with cancer in February. With his wife, Queen Camilla, he visited the Macmillan Cancer Center at University College Hospital, reaffirming his intention to be active in public affairs despite personal challenges.
