Corruption scandal in Poland regarding the supply of generators to Ukraine

Poland has been in the center of corruption scandal concerning the supply of generators for Ukraine. According to RA, the former head of the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves (Rars) Michal Kuchmerovsky has become a figure of investigation into the implementation of the European Union grant in the amount of EUR 114 million.

According to the investigation version, the benefits of supply of generators for Ukraine were given advantages to certain companies. In July this year, two other officials were suspected in connection with this investigation.

The prosecution against Poland's former Prime Minister Matteusz Moravtsky, who accuses the current Prime Minister Donald Tusk of political massacre, was made. Moravetsky noted that Kuchmerovsky was the author of the reform, through which Rars became the "Center for Real Support of Ukraine", which allowed to buy the necessary equipment promptly. Kuchmerovsky was awarded the Order of Merit for this work from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

This scandal has caused considerable resonance in Poland and abroad. Poland is now faced with political pressure and questions about the transparency of procurement and distribution of assistance to Ukraine. Further actions will depend on the results of the investigation and possible lawsuits that may affect the political situation in the country and its international relations.
