The 8th Film Festival "Kyiv Critics Week" will be held from October 17 to October 23, 2024 at the October cinema. This year, the organizers have prepared an impressive program and we decided to allocate five movies to watch.
1. Editorial (The Editorial Office)
Genre: Satire/Comedy
Country: Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic (2024)
Plot: Young researcher Yura tries to save rare animals in Ukraine, but gets into the maelstrom of corruption schemes and fake news. Director Roman Bondarchuk, known for Volcano and Ukrainian Sheriffs, makes his debut with young actor Dmitry Bagnenko in the lead role. The movie got 7/10 on the IMDB.

2. Emilia Perens (Emilia pérez)
Genre: Crime/Musicles/Comedy
Country: France (2024)
Plot: Rita's lawyer receives an unusual proposal from a Mexican drug karter leader who dreams of becoming a woman. Director Jacques Odera. The film received three awards at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, including the jury prize.

3. Partenope (Partenope)
Genre: Fantasy/Drama
Country: Italy, France (2024)
Plot: In 1950, a charming partenop woman is born in Naples, trying to find a balance between the external attractiveness and the inner world. Director Paolo Sorrentino. The film received 6.4/10 on the IMDB.

4. Honey Moon (Honeymoon)
Genre: Drama/Psychological Thriller
Country: Ukraine (2024)
The plot: Taras and Olya celebrate the housewarming, but in their new apartment there is a full -scale war. Director Jeanne Osirna. The world premiere took place at the Venice Film Festival.

5. Sister Midnight)
Genre: Comedy/Drama
Country: UK (2024)
Plot: Minda, a young wife, tries to cope with life in a close apartment and marriage problems. Director Karan Candari. The film claimed awards at the Cannes Film Festival.
