The EU country will start confiscating cars with Russian license plates

Starting on March 11, Lithuania will start the process of confiscation of cars with Russian registration, except for transit to and from the Kaliningrad region. This information was published on the official website of the Lithuanian Customs Service.

It is noted that cars with Russian numbers will have to leave the territory of Lithuania and the European Union by the specified date if they are not registered in that country. After the specified term, the owners of such vehicles are threatened with the fine and confiscation of the car in accordance with Article 515 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

Cars that move to or from the Kaliningrad region will be able to stay in Lithuania within one day.

Earlier it was reported that in 2023, 206 new Lada cars were sold in Ukraine. This means that the sales of Lada cars in Ukraine have decreased by 38% compared to 2022. In addition, last year, only one Russian Bar of the Russian Brand PAZ was sold in the Ukrainian commercial transport market.
