The Baltic countries closed the entrance to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia

Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have decided to ban the entrance to their countries to the founder of the ruling party, the Georgian Dream and the Oligarch Bidzini Ivanishvili , as well as a number of high -ranking Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The reason for the imposition of sanctions was their involvement in human rights violations and suppression of protests in Georgia.

The list of persons who are forbidden to enter Lithuania included such high -ranking officials as Vakhtang Gomelauri (Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia), Shalva Bedoidze (First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), Joseb Chelidze ( Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) Alexander Darakhveli suppression of protest actions in the country.

In addition, the sanction list also included Zazad Garazyshvili , Malery Lagazauri , Mirza Kesevadze , Zaga Seraradze and Timiraas Kupatadze . It is worth noting that some of these persons are already under US sanctions.

According to officials of the Baltic countries, sanctions were imposed through the responsibility of Higher Georgia officials for violation of human rights and participation in the violent suppression of protests. Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia believe that these actions are contrary to democratic principles and violate the fundamental rights of citizens.

Tbilisi has not commented on these sanctions so far, but the decisions of the Baltic countries have caused anxiety in some Georgia political circles, which see it as an interference in the country's internal affairs.
