NATO countries have agreed on a plan to create a "drone wall" to protect against Russian threats

The plan for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for protection was agreed due to security problems in the region against the background of Russia's war in Ukraine.

Six NATO countries that borders with Russia have agreed to create "drone walls" to protect their borders from threats and provocations.

This was reported by Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotn after meeting on May 24 with colleagues from Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland and Norway.

The plan is agreed through security problems in the region related to Russia's war against Ukraine. “This is a completely new solution - the wall of drones from Norway to Poland. The goal is to use drones and other technologies to protect our borders from the provocations of unfriendly countries and to prevent smuggling, ”Bilot said.

To create this "wall wall", the country plans to use UAVs to monitor the border areas, as well as a drone control system to stop enemy drones.

White also reported that Lithuania is already planning to strengthen its border with the help of drones. The Lithuanian State Border Protection Service has recently created the UAV unit and purchases additional drones and systems for combating drones.

The countries now evaluate the necessary steps, after which the national authorities will make a plan for the introduction of “drone walls” with the help of experts.

Although the whiteness could not name the exact term of the implementation of this idea, she noted that the "drone wall" could be created with the EU's financial support.
