"China's legal right to development is unreasonably depressed, and China's basic interests are constantly in doubt. The international community is waiting for both parties to conduct international cooperation to solve global problems and to achieve mutual and numerous victories, or they will resist each other or even more.
According to FT, the Chinese minister meant control of the US over the export of advanced technologies and Taiwan's military support.
The publication notes that friction has also intensified in the South Chinese Sea, which China claims almost completely, entering into conflict with the Philippines. The US reminded that they had a mutual defense agreement with the Philippines.
