China has reached a new level of development of combat aviation, confirming the combat readiness of the double-generation fighter J-20. The modification was designated the J-20S and was first spotted as part of the units of the Air Force forces of the People's Liberation Army of China.
The new fighter was recorded during the rehearsals of the Air Parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of China in World War II, which will take place on September 3. The aircraft with the board number 78737 belongs to the 172nd aviation brigade, based in Tsanchzhou. It is a unit that combines the functions of combat reserve and flight training. The fact of its integration into the driving staff, along with single J-20A, indicates the completion of the stage of experimental operation-the J-20S has officially entered the combat forces of China.
Unlike the standard single version, the J-20S has an elongated cabin with a second place for the combat system officer. Its main functions include the management of radio -electronic fighting, long -distance impact coordination, controlled drones, and support for networking operations. Thanks to this, the J-20S becomes not only a fighter but also an air tactical headquarters that is able to make real-time decisions during difficult missions. Particular attention is paid to the new dark color of the aircraft, which is probably associated with an updated radio absorbing coating. In addition, the electro -optical system of pointing under the nasal part of the aircraft has a characteristic blue glare - this may indicate the installation of new sensors with a circular passive inspection. On external grounds, the J-20s is equipped with upgraded WS-10C2 engines, which provide better draft and less thermal radiation. Some samples can be used as a WS-15 prospective engine test, which should provide supersonic flight without a fold.
According to analysts, the deployment of the J-20S opens the prospects for the creation of specialized options on its basis: platforms for HRS, farm aircraft or air command points. In the context of future multi -dominant operations, where a key role is played by the relationship between unmanned systems, combat aircraft and land structures, this modification can be a serious advantage for China.
