China Van Foreign Minister, at a meeting with US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken in Laos, he announced a new initiative to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. China intends to promote the idea of peace talks between Kiev and Moscow as part of its foreign policy.
China will promote the idea of peace talks between Kiev and Moscow.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Van Im at a meeting in Laos with US Secretary of State Blinken. They discussed Ukraine among other issues.
"China's position on the Ukrainian issue is frank and steadfast, and it will continue to persuade and promote peace talks," Van ings said.
Also, "China opposes slander and false accusations, does not perceive pressure and blackmail and will take decisive and forceful measures to protect its basic interests and legal rights" (commenting, apparently, threats to the United States to impose sanctions against Chinese companies trading with Russia).
In turn, Blinken, speaking of the Ukrainian war, "expressed serious concern in connection with the support of the PRC defense and industrial base of Russia and made it clear that if the PRC does not take steps to eliminate this threat to European security, the United States will continue to take appropriate measures against it."
