China supports the involvement of European countries in negotiations to resolve Russia's war against Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in a comment for Financial Times on February 14.
The head of Chinese diplomacy positively appreciated the negotiations between the United States and Russia aimed at finding ways of peaceful settlement, but emphasized that without Europe, this process would be incomplete.
"This war is on European land. Europe must play an important role in this process," Van.
He also rejected the possibility of economic pressure on Moscow by reducing the imports of Russian gas. According to him, China will continue to purchase energy resources in the Russian Federation, as it requires considerable volumes of gas to ensure its own economy.
"If China does not buy gas in Russia, what kind of country it will be able to buy so much gas? We have to be responsible for our people," the minister said.
