China has successfully completed the construction of the largest oil and gas platform in the world, which weighs 17 thousand tons. The construction process lasted 34 months, and at the end of August, the platform will be transported to the place of its installation in the waters of Saudi Arabia.
This giant platform will be used for oil and gas production, as well as for transportation to land for further processing. It is equipped with modern technologies, including large collectors, pipeline cleaning systems and chemical treatment, which allows to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation.
The platform has an impressive capacity: every year it will be able to produce and transport 24 million tons of crude oil and 7.4 billion cubic meters of gas. For comparison, it is a volume that is approximately equal to eight daily oil exports from Russia. Saudi Arabia plans to achieve such indicators after the full commissioning of the oil and gas field of Marian, which will be installed a platform.
Unlike many countries that have been dependent on one or more energy suppliers for a long time, China has always adhered to diversification strategy. Despite its cooperation with Russia, which often offers low prices, China continues to actively import oil and gas from other leading producers such as Saudi Arabia. This allows China to strengthen its energy positions in the world market and reduce the risks associated with dependence on one supplier.
