Only a small part of Latvian society believes that the state should try to keep Ukrainian refugees for the sake of solving demographic problems and the labor market. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Norstat Center on the Custom of LSM.
Respondents were asked to evaluate the statement "the state should try to keep Ukrainian refugees after the war to alleviate Latvian problems with demography and labor ."
Only 6% of respondents agree with it, and 14% support it partially. Another 31% was neutral (neither for nor against), 24% - rather disagree, 17% - unconditionally disagreed.
Women more often than men spoke unambiguously or rather against keeping Ukrainians in Latvia after the war (44% and 38%), and rarely or rather or rather (17% and 26%).
If you look at the age, the most negative answers - in the group of 40 to 49 years (46%), but all other proportion of those who are against, are much larger than those who are for. Among those who speak in the Latvian family, the share of disagreements with the statement is less than among those who speak Russian (39% and 44%), the share of agrees is higher (23% and 17%).
