Latvia provided Ukraine with 500 more drones

On Tuesday, August 13, Latvia announced the preparation of a new military assistance package for Ukraine, which includes another batch of 500 drones of its own production. Latvia's Defense Minister Andris Prauds confirmed this through the social network X, emphasizing the importance of this support for the Ukrainian military.

"The next package of drones is ready! About 500 Latvian drones will be supported by Ukrainians in the performance of various combat missions," Puruds said in his post.

Latvia is an active participant in the international coalition of drones, which operates within the contact group on defense of Ukraine. This coalition includes 14 countries, including Australia, UK, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, France and Sweden. The coalition is working on providing Ukraine with modern technologies of unmanned systems, which are critical for its defensive efforts.

Earlier, in early July, Latvia has already announced the transfer of more than 2500 drones to Ukraine with a total cost of about 4 million euros. This significant contribution emphasizes the adamant support of Latvia in the struggle of Ukraine for its independence and territorial integrity.

At the same time, at the border of Ukraine with Romania, the State Border Service of Ukraine (DPSU) detained two Ukrainians who tried to cross the border in the camouflage pants-"Kikimora". The criminals were able to reach almost the border, but were discovered and detained by borderline outfit for the last 50 meters.

These events emphasize the importance of international support and continuous safety supervision on borders in a long -term conflict.
