In an interview with American journalist Tacara Carlson, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia made a vision of the Kremlin on the conditions of end of the war in Ukraine. In particular, he stated that peace was possible only if Ukraine is refused NATO membership, prohibition of deploying military bases and conducting exercises with the involvement of foreign military.
Lavrov stressed that in order to reach the agreement, the event should "take into account the realities on Earth", referring to the territory occupied by Russia.
He also added that although some in Russia consider it advisable to include the withdrawal of sanctions to peace conditions, the Kremlin does not consider it as a priority. According to Lavrov, the sanctions not only did not break Russia, but also made it "stronger".
Lavrov also repeated the typical Russian narratives, stating that the Russian Federation "does not intend to destroy the Ukrainian people", calling Ukrainians "brothers and sisters".
Separately, the minister mentioned the test of the new Russian Oreshnik missile, saying it was a "signal for the United States" and that Moscow hopes that Washington would take him seriously.
These statements by Lavrov are another attempt to impose on the world its scenario of end of the war, which is completely contrary to the interests of Ukraine and international law.
