Eyewitnesses say that the football player noticed how one of the passengers became ill, and immediately called the crew for help. After that, he helped the patient sit in the back of the aircraft, remaining near the man until the man got better.
The passenger of the flight Suzanne Lovson noted that Fernandish was very modest and did not try to draw attention to his act. "If I didn't know who he was, I would have thought it was a regular passenger who decided to help," the woman said.
