Abu Muhammad Al-Julii, the leader of the Islamist group "Hayat Tahrir Ash-Sham" (HTS), which participates in the Syrian conflict, said that the West should not be afraid of the victory of the opposition in the country. In his address, he emphasized that his grouping does not seek further exacerbation of the conflict, but on the contrary - focuses on the restoration and stability in Syria.
"The fears of Western countries are superfluous. We strive to restore stability to Syria. The local population is exhausted for years of war. The country is now moving to development and restoration," Al-Julany said. He noted that Syria is not ready for new conflicts and does not plan to get involved in other wars.
The HTS leader also gratefully expressed gratitude to his fighters, who, he said, took control of the situation in the country without external support or intervention. He stressed that the purpose of the group is to restore normal life for Syria residents who have been suffering from hostilities for many years.
This statement is aimed at dispeling the fears of the event on Islamist groups in Syria. However, the opinions of international experts remain separated: some believe that such statements can be part of a strategy for obtaining legitimacy on the world stage, while others are real attempts to change the region of the region to a peaceful path.
