The star of the movie "Home", Makoley Kalkin shared frank details of difficult relationships with his father Christopher "Kit" Kalkin. In an interview with Podcast Sibling Revelry, the actor confessed that he had severed his father's connection with his father more than 30 years ago because of constant psychological pressure and ill -treatment.
According to Kalkin, his father not only managed his son's career, but also applied physical and moral violence to him. The actor said that when he was 10 years old, he asked to take a break in his work, but Kit Kalkin categorically refused. The reason was simple - Makolea's income became the main source of funding for the whole family.
After his parents, the actor was able to leave the film industry and completely stopped any communication with his father. "I have not talked to him for over 30 years, and it is not by chance. He deserves it," Kalkin said.
The actor stressed that his father has seven children and four grandchildren, but none of them maintains contact with him. "He does not deserve our attention. We have all abandoned him," Kalkin added.
He also confessed that he was ready to even prison as a child to avoid meetings with his father. "I would like to avoid having something in common with him," the actor said.
This is not the first time Makole Kalkin speaks of his father's cruelty. Back in 2018, he stated that Kit Kalkin was "mentally and physically cruel."
"He was a bad person. He always dominated me, even before I became famous. I can show you all my scars if I want," Kalkin said. He also emphasized that at the age of 10, he has already reached more than his father in his entire life, and this only exacerbated the situation.
Despite his difficult childhood, Makolya Kalkin was able to return to normal. Today he is happy in a relationship with the actress Brand Sonng, with which he raises two children. He also gradually returns to the movies, although it avoids the overwhelming attention of the press.
