Ukraine actively uses the possibilities of financing the security and defense sector, directing all taxes and internal borrowings for these purposes. Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko emphasized this approach at a press conference at the Media Center Ukraine - Ukrinform under the name "Budget of Ukraine during the war: current situation, plans and forecasts for next year".
Marchenko stressed that in the preparation and approval of the budget for 2024 it was possible to provide the maximum level of financing for all priority areas, in particular for the security and defense sector, new programs in the field of production and procurement of weapons and drones, as well as social protection of the population.
"Although safety and defense funds are never enough, especially in war, but at this stage, we use the potential of our economy as much as possible. We collect maximum taxes and fees and direct them to protect the state. Any internal borrowings also go to support the security and defense sector," Marchenko said.
The Minister of Finance stressed that it is important to rationally use limited resources in this area and achieve maximum results. "This is a key issue for the country's survival," he added.
