More than 80,000 people left the city of Rafach dated May 6 as a result of the intensification of Israel's bombardment. Most of them are people who have previously been forced to move within the country.
The UN High Commissioner for refugees notes that these people are leaving the city for anything that can transport them: from cars and trucks to motorcycles and carts with donkeys. During May 8, more than 47,500 people left rafhi.
Matthew Hallingworth, the director of the World Food Program, emphasizes that the main composition of the agency is currently unavailable, so the assistance has not been received within the last two days. Food and fuel stocks remain for one to three days. The Kerem-Shal checkpoint, which is not far from Rafah, is the main entrance for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Sector, is already open, but the food situation remains extremely critical.
Regarding hostilities, international observers note that the military operation of Israel in the Gaza sector is gaining momentum. Israel plans to create a buffer zone in gas after the conflict with Hamas is completed to prevent such attacks in the future.
The Israeli Army is trying to conduct an operation in the city of Rafach, where there are now more than a million Palestinians. The evacuation of civilians to safe enclaves is planned, but international observers express indignation and support the US in their efforts to avoid a large number of victims among civilians.
