Justice Minister Denis Masuska expressed the opinion that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not lose his legitimacy after the expiration of five years of office on May 21, 2024. According to Kravka, the powers of the President will continue until the next head of state. However, he noted that the norms of the Constitution are not ideally formulated, which can create grounds for different interpretations and "conspiracy theories".
Masuska refused to comment on the possibility of appealing to the Constitutional Court on the legitimacy of the President, considering it too late and even harmful, given the current situation in the country. He noted that there is no point in going to court now, as it can give rise to serious problems with communication and security in the country.
On the question of the reality of the presidential decrees and documents after May 21, Masus confirmed that they all remain in force. He noted that no president has worked day after day, as the Constitution envisages, so this issue remains within normal practice.
