The court ordered the Ministry of Culture to return the church of St. Nicholas to the religious community
On Thursday, March 13, the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court made a decision that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine obliges the Presidential Assignment of 2005 to the transfer of St. Nicholas Church in Kiev to the religious community. The court's decision recognizes the unlawful inaction of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications due to the failure of the Presidential President of Ukraine of December 9, 2005 (ref. No. 1-1/1381).
The court ruled that the Ministry of Culture should execute the mentioned Presidential Order, which was issued in 2005 by President Viktor Yushchenko's decree. The government and local authorities had to take the necessary measures to transfer the church to the religious community, but this was never done.
The abbot of St. Nicholas Parish Pavel Vyshkovsky stressed that the non -return of the church is not only a violation of the rights of the parish, but also an deception of more than 25,000 citizens who have signed a petition to support the transfer of the temple more than a year ago.
