The Ministry of Education dismissed an employee for publishing on Facebook expressions offensive to Ukrainians

The Ukrainian Ministry of Education has dismissed an employee who was suspected of humiliation of national honor and dignity of Ukrainians through his publication on Facebook.

According to the prosecutor's office, the official wrote on the social network that independence did not benefit all the former countries of the USSR, and he called Ukraine's independence "Kidalov." He criticized leaflets that agitated to vote for Ukraine's exit from the USSR in the 1991 referendum. In his opinion, people voted not for independence, but "for the promises of rapid enrichment."

For these statements, the man faces up to 3 years in prison under the article on discrimination, since the investigation believes that they are "abusive to the Ukrainian people."

According to the public, it is about the former state expert in the group on digital transformation of education and science, which was released in August 2023.
