Moldova and the United Kingdom have signed an Agreement on Security and Defense Partnership aimed at enhancing Moldova's stability to external threats and expanding bilateral cooperation. This step marks the further rapprochement of Chisinau with the West countries against the background of regional instability caused by war in Ukraine.
- Increased defense: the agreement provides for Moldova's support in strengthening its defensive capacity to external threats.
- Cybersecurity: The United Kingdom allocates £ 2 million to protect Moldova from cyberattacks, which are becoming more relevant in the modern conflict environment.
- Humanitarian aid: London provides 5 million pounds to strengthen the Moldovan health care system, in particular to support Ukrainian refugees.
The UK Foreign Minister David Lemmy stressed that Moldova has accepted more than 50,000 children among the warfare. Britain and Romania jointly support Moldova's efforts to overcome Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The agreement also has an agreement on readmission, which will ensure the return of Moldova citizens illegally in the UK, home.
