Moscow opposed the freezing of the war in Ukraine

The Russian Federation categorically disagrees with no variant of "freezing of war" in Ukraine and opposes NATO participation in the process of regulation. This was stated by a permanent representative of the Russian Federation under the United Nations Vasyl Nemenza during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

In his speech, Neenza also criticized the Ukrainian leadership, accusing Kyiv of "unwillingness" to reach peace. He stated that Ukraine rejected Hungary's proposal to organize the so -called "Christmas Truce", and at the same time called the peaceful initiative of President Vladimir Zelensky "smoke curtain before the next escalation".

"This is another attempt to cover Ukraine's military operations, as it was, for example, in Kurshchyna," Neenz said, referring to his own stateless statements.

In addition, the Russian representative added that Ukraine allegedly "in the boorish manner" refused to take more than 600 prisoners of war, which the Russian Federation has been holding for over a year.

Traditionally, Neenza resorted to rhetoric, accusing the "Kiev regime" of usurpation of power, and described the Ukrainian army as an army of "deserters".

Neenzi's statement once again demonstrates unacceptability for the Kremlin of any peaceful settlement that does not meet the aggressive goals of Russia. The Ukrainian side, for its part, has repeatedly emphasized that just peace was possible only if the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory is fully restored.
