The Ministry of Health has launched the first stage of partial removal of armor from medical workers. This decision is initiated by the command of the medical forces in accordance with the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko during a briefing on April 30.
According to the Minister, the command of the medical forces appealed to the Ministry of Defense with an initiative to mobilize doctors. In response, the defensive department has sent a request to the Ministry of Health with a specific number of specialists who are proposed to remove from the armor for further service.
After that, as Lyashko explained, the transfer of these requests to the regional level was distributed on the quota principle. Regional military administrations and health departments are involved in the work, which now cooperate with specific institutions to identify medical specialties that will relate to the removal.
It is about experts who are mobilized on the terms of the contract for one year. This approach is provided for changes to the current legislation.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that partial removal of the armor will allow to provide rotation of medical workers who will serve as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This mechanism aims to maintain the capacity of the medical system in the rear and at the same time strengthen the medical support of the military in the front line.
