The Customs Service explained the information on alleged exports of Ukrainian steel to Russia in 2024 in the amount of $ 21.04 million. According to the department, these data are related to the registration of additional declarations for products, which was taken out before the start of a full -scale war.
As they noted in response to the request of journalists, one of the metallurgical companies completed the documentary registration of deliveries made before February 24, 2022, when the ban on export to Russia has not yet operated.
The customs explained that large parties of raw materials use the mechanism of periodic declarations, which makes it possible to simplify procedures. The final documents for such operations can be submitted with delay, which has caused the information in the reports for 2024.
Thus, the actual export of Ukrainian steel to Russia after the prohibition did not occur, and data in statistics are the result of the features of customs documentation.
