In Donetsk, the invaders separated the head of the Ukrainian serviceman.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, on June 17, 2024, the Ukrainian military found a damaged armored car of the Defense Forces of Ukraine at one of the combat positions in Donetsk region. The car was cut off by the Ukrainian defender. The Ukrainian prosecutors began investigations and qualified the event as a gross violation of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of Pursuing and an additional protocol to the Geneva Conventions.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin believes that it is a barbaric act that testifies to the strategy of the Russian regime. He stressed that war crimes committed by the invaders are not accidental incidents, but part of the planned policy. The Office of the Prosecutor General actively establishes the circumstances of the event and checks the involvement of specific servicemen of the Russian Federation in this crime.
Kostin calls the international community for isolation and punishment of Russia as a terrorist country who commits similar terrible war crimes.
