The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed a number of contracts with Ukrainian enterprises for the purchase of defense goods.
The contracts were concluded during the working trip of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the Khmelnytsky region. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Klimenkov stressed that these contracts will help to strengthen the security of the country, and confirmed that the Ministry of Defense will continue to give preference to domestic weapons.
Marina Bezrukova, Director of the Defense Agency, emphasized that in 2024, 70% of the total amount of agreements concerned Ukrainian weapons, ammunition and military equipment. She also noted that almost all funds for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles were directed at domestic manufacturers.
Currently, there are about 500 enterprises in the defense-industrial complex in Ukraine that are engaged in the production of weapons, and this case is occupied by about 300 thousand citizens. The design and production enterprise "Ukrainian armored vehicles" plans to significantly increase the production of weapons in the event of signing contracts with the state. In 2023, the production of weapons in the Ukrainian defense industry increased six times.
