At the age of 116, the oldest man of the planet - Brazilian nuns, Cannabarro Lucas, who devoted herself to the service of God. Her death on April 30 was confirmed by the Sisters of Teresian in Porta Alegre, expressing gratitude for her long life, full of faith and devotion.
After the death of Japanese Tomyko Itook in January 2024, the cannabarro was recognized as the oldest man in the world. According to the US Gerontological Research Group (GRG) and the Longeviquaest Base, this title has now moved to 115-year-old Etel Katerym from the United Kingdom.
Ina claimed that she was born on May 27, 1908, but the official date is considered June 8, 1908. At the age of 26, between the two world wars, she entered the monastery and since then lived in humility, prayer and service.
On its 110th anniversary, the nun received a personal blessing of Vitomico Itook. In an interview, she called the main reason for her longevity "the will of God."
Ina Cannabarro Lucas became the 15th oldest documented man in history and the second oldest nun, after Lucille Srdonn from France, who died in 2023 at the age of 118.
