The highest paying industries in Ukraine during the next 10 years, according to the conclusions of the Ministry of Economy

In the next decades, Ukraine will be particularly highly demand for engineers and technical specialists to work in the defense-industrial complex (defense). This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy Tatiana Berezhna at the International Forum "Human Capital: Skills for the Future".

According to her, the government has already analyzed the key skills and specialties necessary for the development of the country over the next 10 years. The priority of all specialties, including engineers and technical experts for the renewal of the OPC and the development of national military technologies, is determined by the priority.

There is also a need for STEM education graduates, including those specializing in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Healthcare professionals, including rehabilitologists and psychologists, remain important because the consequences of war are noticeable in many areas.

Public policy is also defined as an actual industry that requires representatives with appropriate skills in the coming years. In addition, the restoration of the country after the conflict will increase the demand for specialists in the construction sphere, including architects, projects and engineers.

On the other hand, the results of a survey of European Business Association indicate that about 90% of employers in Ukraine plan to raise wages in 2024 and open new vacancies. However, such an increase, although it will meet inflation, will not ensure the complete restoration of the level of income to the previous level before the war in 2022.

The study shows that companies experience a shortage of personnel, especially in a number of areas, such as directors, managers, narrow profile specialists, English -speaking workers, marketers, secretaries and sales managers, lawyers, lawyers, auditors, engineers, chemicals, pharmacists and agronomists.

Compared to the average salary in Ukraine, which is 18 542 UAH, in Romania, where wages are one of the lowest in the EU, the average income of workers is 62 305 UAH, which is 3.3 times more. The end of the war and the possible joining of Ukraine to the EU raise the issue of salaries among the key factors that affect labor migration.
