Attack of gangs on the elite areas of the Haitian capital: at least 12 people became victims

On Monday, March 18, there was an attack on two elite areas of the Gaiti capital, resulting in at least 12 people killed.

Armed bandits were attacked and looted the homes in Labule and Thomasen in the morning, forcing people to leave their homes.

The least 12 people were killed and their bodies were discovered on the streets of Petionville, located below Labule and Thomasen mountain communities.

The representative of the city hall, Titi, noted: "We woke up this morning and saw bodies on the streets in our community Petionville ... Our community is not like others. We are going to clear bodies before the start of school classes and return traders."

Despite the fact that almost a week ago Prime Minister Ariel Henry declared his resignation, according to the requirements of gangs, recent attacks have caused anxiety that violence could continue.

Also on Monday, the Haitian energy company reported that four substations in the capital and other cities were "destroyed and completely disrupted", resulting in a large part of the Port-O-Prinsa remained without power supply.

According to the company, the bandits also captured important documents, cables, inverters, batteries and other items.

The Haiti situation intensified at the end of February after Prime Minister Haiti Ariel Henry flew to Kenya in order to reconcile the deployment of a foreign contingent to combat gangs. The groups declared war on the prime minister, paralyzing the life of the capital and demanding its resignation.

On March 4, a 72-hour state of emergency and night curfew in the capital and its surroundings were announced in the country after two cases of escaping about 4,000 prisoners.

Later, the Haitian gangs began a large-scale assault of several administrative buildings in the port of Port-Orens. The government has introduced a state of emergency. Meanwhile, US Embassies, Germany and EU have begun to evacuate their staff through the strengthening of bandit violence.

As of March 11, the situation on Haiti has deteriorated: gangs seized 80% of the capital and demanded the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

On March 11, Prime Minister Haiti Ariel Henri said he would resign after forming a transitional council and temporary replacement.
