The current People's Deputy of Ukraine is suspected of involvement in the scheme of theft of funds of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya”. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) reported the suspicion of the People's Deputy, which the investigation considers the organizer of the scheme of seizure of more than UAH 140 million due to the overestimation of prices for the purchase of cable and conducting products.
According to the investigation, the People's Deputy used his influence to create obstacles in the activity of the entrepreneur and involve it in the implementation of the illegal scheme. Having enlisted the support of the entrepreneur, the People's Deputy developed the mechanism of seizure of Ukrzaliznytsia by supplying products at inflated prices.
In order to implement the scheme of the person, they plot with another organized group, which consisted of officials of "Ukrzaliznytsia". The members of this group, having organized the so-called "back office", provided informal control over the company's activities and eliminated obstacles to the victory of controlled firms in tenders.
During 2021-2022, two enterprises, controlled by the People's Deputy and the entrepreneur, won tenders for the supply of cable and conducting products for Ukrzaliznytsia. The attackers increased the cost of production, selling it at much higher prices than market, which caused losses to the state in the amount of more than UAH 140 million.
As of today, eight people have been suspected in this case. The Name of the People's Deputy was not disclosed in the SAP message, however, according to the source of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, Victor Bondar refers.
