The Security Service of Ukraine informed the incumbent People's Deputy about suspicion of treason. According to Ukrinform, we are talking about Yevgeny Shevchenko, who is suspected of systematic subversive activities in favor of Russia and illegal "schemes" with the authorities of Belarus.
Law enforcement officials note that Shevchenko actively spread Russian propaganda fakes through his channels on YouTube and Telegram, as well as on Ukrainian and pro-Russian mass media. In October-November 2024, he publicly distorted information about the command of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the mood among the population.
In addition, according to the investigation, the people's deputy established relations with the Belarusian authorities, which allowed him to carry out commercial "schemes" for the import of electricity and ammonia fertilizers. These resources were purchased at a discounted price, and later affiliated companies sold them several times more expensive. It is known that thanks to the "facilitation regime" of the Belarusian authorities, the deputy earned EUR 1.5 million in net profit from these schemes over the past six months, although he was able to transfer only EUR 500,000 to Ukraine. euro.
In the course of the investigation, it was also found out that during this time the People's Deputy purchased three luxury cars, which he issued to his relatives. The total cost of vehicles is about 500,000. dollars
Based on the collected evidence, Shevchenko was notified of suspicion under the article on high treason. Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure is being resolved. If found guilty, the people's deputy faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
